“As for trends, Wall Street analysts expect tablet computers to take an even bigger bite of the consumer-notebook market next year. They also forecast that some of the largest advertising budgets will migrate over to Internet videos from TV.”

Finally keep your eyes out for the Apple iphone with Verizon Wireless. Yes Apple has a contract with AT&T till 2012 but the rumors and actions taken by Verizon to make way for the iphone are hard to ignore. Verizon is rolling out the LTE network which removes one of the technical barriers of a verizon iphone and Verizon is already carrying the ipad.

Your TV is Smarter Than You, Ask Google

Google.. they started with a search engine… then the Android phones.. they revolutionized email with WAVE.. then Chrome OS now they’re creating Google TVs. Word is finally out that channel flipping just isn’t efficient enough for today’s society. They’re also dealing with the complexity of connecting our laptops to our televisions via hdmi (that was sarcasm if you didn’t catch it). So lets get to it.

What does Google provide that our current televisions don’t?

First Google brought its first innovation to our television: The Search Engine

You can search any channel, movie, tv show, even video clip and itll do its magic and search the your channel listings and the web (The magic combination of your cable provider, Hulu, Youtube, and any website that plays videos) Even Amazon VOD!

Second it gives you a Home Menu

Sure your television shows you the company’s logo doing its own little dance but does yours include applications, recordings, netflix and more?? I THINK NOTTT

APPS, APPS, and more APPS

The android market has reached over 50,000 applications for their platform which some (NOT ALL) can be updated to work on Google TV (that can be a gaming market if they play they’re cards right)

Third the Net comes to you Set.

Full internet capabilities come with your Google TV experience. Yup that means Everything. Bookmarks can be viewed on the home screen similar to the Chrome Browser.

Wifi, Ethernet, Keyboard, and a pointing device comes included

How many televisions come with all that included? ( I cant really think of any, I keep thinking of a PC)

There’s more features to this miracle of a device but those are the prominent ones I believe will make or break the decision of getting one. Of course these televisions will probably break your wallet merciless but there are alternatives. If you can get off the couch for two seconds, you’ll find out the hdmi cable coming with your laptop can connect straight into the television. You can get a wireless keyboard and most for optimal use or just get the Airmouse app if you have an iphone/ipad/itouch.  If you want to see this for yourself check out the youtube video below

Hey Google, if you really want more customers (like they don’t have enough already) invest in XBMC. Integrate that in your Google TV and your surely be swimming in green, literally.

Play Games With Your Webcam

On my search for new and interesting things to share with readers I came across this website  www.camspace.com which is similar to Project Natal. If you don’t know what project Natal is,  its a peripheral coming in 2010 on the XBox 360. If it doesn’t ring a bell take a look at the 2nd video.  The good thing is that you no longer need to get your hands on an XBOX to have this hands-free experience and you don’t have to wait till 2010! This feature is free for download on the website www.camspace.com . I really wanted to test this out so I can give you some pros and cons but I don’t own a webcam :(   If you’ve tried this or your going to try it please let me know your experience. Enjoy.
